Wells of Dreams – A Fundraiser to Build Wells for Schools of Dreams by River of Life

What is River of Life?

River of Life was inspired by our internship with Schools of Dreams through the International Youth Internship Program (IYIP), where we lived in Ghana for three months as research interns. Working closely with teachers and students, we conducted research on educational barriers and gender disparities while supporting efforts to strengthen school environments. Through this experience, we learned the power of listening, community partnership, and turning research into meaningful action.

Inspired by our shared passion for storytelling, creativity, and community impact, we came together to turn compassion into action.

River of Life is a collective of creatives, shaping the flow toward a future where no one is left behind. Like a river, life is full of twists and turns, but by guiding the current with intention, we believe meaningful change is possible. Through storytelling-driven and fundraising campaigns, we support community development initiatives.

Wells of Dreams is our very first project.

Description

Water is life. It nourishes our bodies, sustains our communities, and makes learning possible. Yet for many students, access to clean water at school is not guaranteed.

Currently, three Schools of Dreams do not have a water well. Water is essential for drinking, sanitation, hygiene (WASH facilities), and maintaining a safe and healthy learning environment. Without a reliable water source on school grounds, students are often required to walk long distances to collect water – taking valuable time away from their education and adding an unnecessary burden to their daily lives.

By providing a sustainable water source, we aim to empower students to attend school consistently, improve their learning experience, and create an environment where they can focus on growth, health, and opportunity.

Fundraising Goal

Our goal is to raise $11,500 to build sustainable water wells for three Schools of Dreams, providing long-term access to clean water and supporting healthier, more equitable learning environments for students. Any excess funds raised will be directed toward Schools of Dreams’ project funds to support additional initiatives.is
