Dora’s Dream

A Message from the President of Schools of Dreams

Like you, my mom Dora Anie, the founder of Schools of Dreams, believed that education is one of the greatest gifts that a person can receive. It empowers, enriches and transforms lives.  Education equips children for the challenges that lie ahead; it creates better prospects for their growth and development. And it opens doors to all kinds of new and exciting opportunities.  Education lifts children out of poverty and builds stronger, more prosperous communities.

In rural Ghana, West Africa, however, there are countless villages that have no schools, or have unsafe or makeshift structures as classrooms. Recognizing a great need, Dora made it her life’s passion to ensure that the children have a safe, clean and proper environment in which to learn.  It was her dream to make a difference for as many children as she could.

Although Dora passed away in 2019, her passion and her dream lives on in our annual Dora’s Dream campaign, whereby dedicated donors and supporters of Schools of Dreams like you come together to raise funds to build a new school for a village in rural Ghana.  2021 marks our second annual campaign and our goal is to raise $90,000.

Your generosity will make a difference in a young child’s life. When you give to the Dora’s Dream campaign, you are not just giving money, you are giving a child a brighter future through the gift of education.

Please continue to help by donating now. You can make a personal donation or a tribute donation in honour or memory of a someone special. And for donations of $100 or more, your name or the name of a loved one will be displayed on a tribute wall that will be located onsite at our next project. Every contribution, regardless of the amount, can transform lives.

Thank you for giving the gift of education.
